With HTML 5 you no longer need to use “external” players like the widespread Adobe Flash player. That’s very good news imho, i never liked Flash anyway. HTML 5 offers an inbuilt solution for streaming audio and video files in a very simple way. It also offers to sort of customize the appearance of the player by using CSS. However, creating a customized HTML 5 player sure is worth another tutorial which i might do in the next few days or so. For now i’ll show you the simplest way of streaming Audio on your website.
The code itself is pretty self-explanatory when you look at it:
<source src="yourdomain/mp3/audio/file.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" />
<em>Sorry, your browser doesn't support HTML5 audio.</em>
Simply replace the value for source with the actual link to your audio file to make it work. And that’s it, add the code to your site where you want the audio controls to appear, save the changes and you are done.
